2/17/2017 7:34:20 AM | I am totally overwhelmed by the response from you guys; thank you so much for your input and your interest and your help. First, I must explain that I'm going to be out of pocket for a bit, so I won't be able to get back as quickly as I'd like. this PC is a refurbished one I bought to replace the one that fell dead. It's growing hair, out-of-control rampage, and blowing hot and it's being returned for another. They're doing some construction in our neighborhood which invariably results in either no electricity or water or gas or phone or internet or a combo of same; which is why I haven't been back any sooner. Finally got phone and internet back up whatever time it was, last night. Next week I'm having some extensive dental work done, which won't hurt at all (or so I'm told); but just in case it does, I'll be too busy crying to have time for anything constructive. Now, all that out of the way - YES! YES! YES! Splendid ideas, from everyone - and yes, Mel so much deserves a bit of return on his dedication to all of us, who could get nothing from anyone else. OK, when I initially checked out Ellen DeGeneres it was for my grandson, a musician; he didn't follow up because of time, or lack of. When I saw the request for help for Mel - who I didn't actually have any experience with because when I found his site originally I thought I couldn't afford him. I also knew he'd been around a long time and had a loyal following, was an exceptional individual, and bam! immediately came EDG to mind. Sent him an email, told him might have the answer to his prayers. He called, we talked, and next thing, I'm adopted into this beautiful, loving and giving community. Mel so deserves recognition for having the courage to take on this crew, right? My idea is that we each write, as previously described, (and check out Goggle or whichever, as the contact info I had was from about 2 or 3 yrs. ago; try How to Ask Ellen DeGeneres for Help - my info came from Seekyt - and it was very well explained; also noted was "Credit: Tulane Public Relations", "Tell the Story". Excellent suggestions on how to get her interest, get her help. I suggest all choosing to help with this project, try to find that particular item - and when I get past this hairy PC and the dental trauma, I'll do a recap of same, in event you can't find it). Now, as I was saying - we each write, stagger our messages so whomever is receiving isn't overwhelmed by the volume, make each story an emotional experience for the reader, (emotion sells,) of each story stays with the reader, as of course does Mel. OK, I know this doesn't exactly qualify as "in a nutshell", but that's my general idea and with the response from you guys, I truly believe we can do this. Mel deserves it, and so do we. And believe me - I wouldn't attempt this unless I knew that Mel was totally cool with whatever notice this may bring him - to have his own clinic and all the assets would not only help ease his load, but would also help him help more people like us. Before you send anything, please check out her web site; easier to understand than my chat. This is a team effort, so please keep your ideas, suggestions, etc., coming. Thank you each and everyone, God bless you each and everyone. |
