You have so much helpful information on a variety of issues. At this time I can't afford the protocol but I thought it would be important to get the diet down while I'm waiting to see if another member of my family gets approved first. Some of my ideas of what I thought I would add to my diet you just let me know that it wouldn't work. My diet has been mostly carbs. I do like black bean burgers and peanut butter sandwhiches and surprised those aren't good to eat. I thought by not eating meat, dairy, eggs would be a healthier lifestyle for me but I have a hard time losing the weight I have put on by eating too many carbs. Not to mention I never feel good. I know I'm missing something in my diet that would give me energy. My test results always come back fine. I do take Vit D pills but haven't been able to get the money together to get the vitamins yet. Everything seems so expensive if you are trying to get better quality. I only eat organic and I gave up sugar several years ago. I'm thinking as soon as I can really understand the diet it might not be a really big change for me. I've been drinking unsweetened almond milk for years as a basis for my smoothies where I add a banana, spinach and a package of instant breakfast. I'm to the point I really don't need more sweetness than greens but the banana helps give it volume. I think Mel said above everyone needs some meat. It won't be easy but maybe if I don't think about it I could make something I used to love chili. However, if beans are an issue not sure how that would work. Have you ever made chili without the beans? I wish I could instantly have all the answers to this diet but the more I go on You Tube the more confused I get. The Keto people say low carb makes you feel tired and sick that you have to be in Ketosis but I can't get passed the amount of fat. Yet it seems like those on here are following low carbs and doing ok. I need a ratio of meats, fats allowed and see what I can do to make the change from vegan to eating some fish and meat. Eggs I'll hard-boiled, I used to love egg salad and since you use mayo I suppose that's OK. I need the list of approved foods that will help a lot.
