This connection to trains is absolutely "right on!" I love the profound meaning the words provide when describing a train enthusiast. Thank you for sharing this with the community, Peter. It truly gives us insight on certain connections and the needed "peace" people find throughout this life.
"The Lord gives strength to his people; the Lord blesses his people with peace." (Psalm 29:11)

Hello folks
I came across this today and. Immediately thought of Mel. I think.this wonderfully captures why he has such a love for trains. It also paints s picture of his "servants heart." It comes from Herman Williams in his seminole work on the joys of being a model train hobbyist. He writes....
"Many an hour have I spent blissfully lost on a world of my own creation." "For the model train enthusiast, there exists a secret world of order and symmetry." "Nestled into the corners of our basements or attics, we lord over a world where the hobbyist plays omnipotent creator." "There, in 1:87 scale, the neighbors are always kind, the lovers always end up together, and the trains always take you to far off places you always swore you'd go."
In life of course.nothing is nearly as neat and tidy. Bless your heart, Mel.
Strength and Love, Peter
