Morgellons - Good Morning Everyone — Apparently, Life Had One More Plot Twist

Good morning everyone, and welcome once again.

This morning I was sitting out on the terrace—or balcony, depending on how fancy I’m feeling—in my recliner with my first cup of coffee, looking out over the soccer field. And I had one very simple thought:

Man, it’s great to be alive.

After the last few weeks, I think I’ve earned that cup of coffee.

First, the air conditioning tried to cook me alive. Then, once we finally got that under control and the polar bears and penguins packed their bags and left, I got sick. And now, apparently, my body has decided that wasn’t quite enough excitement.

Yesterday was a test for me in more ways than one. I spent most of the day traveling between three hospitals and a couple of clinics, seeing doctors, having blood drawn, getting tested, answering the same questions over and over, and having my blood pressure taken often enough that I’m surprised they didn’t give me a frequent-customer card.

Because my mother died of cancer, my doctors want to be especially thorough and make sure there isn’t anything else going on that we don’t know about.

I also learned that the skin cancer under my eye is a little more serious than I had originally understood. It looks like I’ll probably need two procedures. The first will be with a very highly regarded eye doctor who will remove the cancer—freeze it, cut it, zap it, or whatever sophisticated medical terminology they use when they’re explaining things to a guy who has already been to five medical buildings that day.

Depending on how that goes, I may then need a second procedure with a plastic surgeon who is considered one of the best in Colorado.

So today I should learn more about when the first procedure will happen and what comes next.

Looking back, I’ve known for a while that I haven’t felt quite right. Maybe this has been part of the reason. I don’t know yet, but I’ll keep all of you posted as I learn more.

And this time, I’m not going to apologize. I can’t control everything that happens to me. What I can control is what I do with it.

I’ll do my damnedest to stay focused on all of you and on this community that means so much to me. We spend a lot of time here talking about getting well, perseverance, faith, and continuing to fight when life throws something unexpected at us.

Well, apparently I get to practice what I preach.

There is no conference call this weekend, but we do have Prayer and Fellowship on Sunday. I hope you’ll join us and bring that spiritual component to your own healing—and maybe send a little extra prayer my way while you’re at it.

For now, I’m going to finish my coffee, enjoy the view, and appreciate being here.

Have a blessed day and a wonderful weekend.

God bless you all.
