3/5/2017 9:58:55 AM | Hi Everyone and Blessings, In this weeks conference call someone had asked about treating the eyes for grittiness and all the other eye problems attached with this disease. I had had severe eye problems since the onset of this disease and seen many eye Drs who gave me many different drops including antibiotics drops which none provided no relief. It attacked not only my eyes but also my eye brows. Looking closely with a magnifying lighted makeup mirror, I saw little what appeared like eggs along my eyelash line and eggs at the roots of my eyebrows. In addition to that, I saw tiny filiments coming out just below the pores of my brows coming out. Both my eyes and brows were itchy and my eyelashes and brows were falling out. I have found much relief using the following product: Trader Joe's brand of "TEA TREE TINGLE BODY WASH". It's first ingredient is tea tree. I wet my face several times with warm water then apply the the body wash to my whole face including my brows and shut tightly my eyes. I use my fingernails to scrub the wash into my eyebrows and the root line of my eyebrows. Let sit for about 60 seconds keeping my eyes shut tightly and then rinse vigorously with warm water. Rinse well as the wash also contains peppermint and may cause a little tearing. Actually I find the slight tearing to be a great thing as it also flushes and clears out my tear ducts. It's then important to use a dry clean towel to vigorously rub back and forth across each eyelash line moving to a new portion of the towel to each eye as to not transfer the eggs that sluff off into the other eye. Repeat the same process for the brows always using a fresh part of the towel. NEVER REUSE THAT TOWEL as it must be washed. I read that the eggs like moisture and will hatch within 3 days. Using the same towel will reinfect. Trader Joe's also has in the same line of products a "Tingle Tea Tree" shampoo and conditioner. I've had a lot of luck using that also as I think those eggs go into hair follicles and hatch the little worm filaments. From my readings Tee Tree keeps them down. I have found these products have greatly reduced my scalp, eyebrow and eye itching. My theory regarding the itchy gritty eyes is that those tiny eggs untreated fall into the eyes and hatch in the eyes that produce the gritty eye feeling. These products have been a tremendous help. The good news is all the products are only $4.95 each and last a long time. I hope this can help other people as it has helped me. Best Wishes and God Bless, Deb |
