I hope your day is filled with love, laughter, and sunshine. You deserve everything good in life, though I've never met someone who is so delighted by so little...(Mel just called me and is over the moon because he figured out how to get an old string of white Christmas lights working that anyone else would have thrown away). You do so very much for so many...and my prayer for you this year is to be able to lose some of the ongoing worry about basic expenses, so you can more easily focus on what you do best...help all of us who have been maligned, abandoned, and abused. You shine the light on the trail to lead us out of this nightmare...and I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I know I'm not alone in this thought...what would we all do without you? Your life is a lesson in faith...you made a promise and have stuck by it...even though the price to do so has been costly. You do it though...and for that I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I've said it so many times, I feel like a broken record, or an infomercial...but really Mel...if it wasn't for you, many MANY people's lives would be dramatically different, and not for the better. I was looking back over your FB page and re-read a post I'd written after I'd visited with you in September of 2017. I'd found your old modeling pix and had posted them along with some backstory about our relationship. Your friend Rick responded with these words, Karen, you've got yourself quite a catch. I've known Mel for over 10 years and he is the real deal. It is hard for people to believe he does what he does to benefit humanity, at great personal cost. You found yourself a man who is single-handedly changing the world. Not many people out there even attempting to do that. He's got a full plate and pushes on... day by day. In my eyes, he is one of a kind. Yes...I agree with Rick...many of us think about helping mankind from time to time...but you actually do it. Every day. So today, I want to show you how much you're appreciated. Check your email and find a cash gift from me...it's not enough to match your real value...but that would be a difficult thing to do.
