Mary w 2/13/2020 8:56:06 AM | Hi Amy, Welcome to this community, you came and found the best website and protocol ever when you found Mel's site. I have been a part of this community for a little over 9 months. I had some problems with sums of the parts due to my own stubbornness. This is the right place to be. You don;'t have to feel lonely or afraid anymore. We're here to help each other. I'm looking forward to be around to hear your progress as well. Mary W.
Maria 2/8/2020 8:49:49 AM | Hello and welcome to all Newbies! I'm sorry I have not had the chance to speak with any of you on the Sunday calls, but I just wanted to extend a warm welcome to you! Finding this website literally was a life-saver for me. I was battling this disease alone, and was terrified, bewildered, and in a rapid decline physically. Rest assured, you are in the right place! I am starting my 16th month on the protocol, and have made huge strides in rebuilding my health, from the inside out. The discipline required to follow the protocol exactly, to follow the diet always, is very difficult, but not impossible. Learn to embrace your veggies and avocados...they are your friends! And who says we have to starve? I have my healthy treats that I allow myself during the day...a square of unsweetened dark chocolate sprinkled with stevia, and a few almonds, all munched together, is a favorite. Almond yogurt sprinkled with cocoa powder, pecans, and stevia is another. Yum. Another thing I've learned is that while this disease hit me like a tidal wave, it leaves like a very slow tide...a gradual ebbing. I've not experienced any dramatic herxing, but I am indeed getting better. In the beginning, when the disease hit, I rapidly lost 40 pounds which left me too thin, but I have since put on about 8 pounds, which brings me back to where I ought to be. Tremendous patience and faith are required. There are days when you are just not really sure what is happening--it seems as if things are moving backwards, and it is hard not to panic. Especially during the full moons (follow the split drop protocol--it is very helpful!) But then a day or two later, you feel better. Conserve your energy, and don't spend all your days cleaning. If you're like me, you've spent entire frenzied days and nights (along with husband and kids) cleaning everything from top to bottom--disinfecting the cars, mopping, vacuuming, changing sheets, washing laundry constantly. It was exhausting, and made us all cranky! I finally listened to Mel, and eased up on that madness. Just keep up with the minimum housework--the house will get cleaner as you improve. I know that sounds very odd, but it is true. The black specks are all gone from my house now. Take naps, and rest as much as you can. Pamper yourself--read a book, watch a funny film, anything to distract you and occupy your mind. I laughed every night through the very worst nights of this disease by zoning out and watching my favorite sitcom reruns. Hang in there, and never ever give up! See you on the other side! Love, Maria
