Dear All, This illness sure is hard enough to deal with, without us losing sight of who we are and neglecting to do things that could give us a bit of pleasure. Please don't make the mistake of giving up all hobbies and pastimes as you scramble through this difficult journey! I was lost for years and I lost my creativity too as I struggled, don't make that same mistake as I did !! Now is the time that you need a hobby MORE THAN ANY OTHER TIME in your life most likely!! We all need something to take out minds of this illness.We need to remember we may have this disease, however it is not who we are . So ,what would bring a smile to you face today ,even in the midst of you battling through this ? Do not focus on what you can no longer do ,instead focus on what you can do and on what is possible. I for one took up stone painting a month ago and I really really enjoy it. I enjoy the feel and texture of the smooth stones as they fit perfectly into my hands .I love using acrylic waterproof paint markers ,they are so easy to use .I love the vibrant colors and I love watching it all take shape .We all need some color in our lives absolutely !! And I'm getting into the habit of putting on music and singing as I paint them, , so it's a double whammy of singing and painting :-). Even if it's just an hour every two or three days it sure is enjoyable !!! Also, if I find myself upset I will instinctively pick up a stone and paint it there and then to try to cheer myself up and it helps !!! Here is a wee picture of some of the stones I have created as they adjust to their new home outside :-). What can you start doing soon that you will enjoy ? Love Chrissie | |||

Dear Dale, It was lovely to hear you on the call with Mel the other week! I am very happy you are doing so well health wise now! As I said on the call I felt for you a lot having a wife and three kids and having this disease. I know it was not only a worry getting yourself well but also being around your family. It is wonderful that your family all have strong immune systems and were not affected by toxic disease. And that you have stuck faithfully to the, 'sum of the parts,' and are feeling really good these days. You are on your way to your happy dance I would bet:-). Thank you for sending us a lovely picture of you and your kids Ice skating. It's so nice to see you and them having fun and looking great!! Thanks for encouraging community members to take up a hobby that they would enjoy. It's important for people to take their minds off this illness, to have some fun and respite. A shout out to Everyone on this thread, Thank you Dale for your encouraging words And wow, what a beautiful family Dale , your Children are beautiful !! I am so happy your Getting well , and your looking forward to being Completely well by Christmas , what a Beautiful gift to yourself and your family For this coming Christmas !!! How wonderful!! Yes you are so right and thank you for Reminding us to get engaged with life again, This illness is so consuming not only your Thoughts but your resources as well and it will Be so nice when we are all well again !! So thank You and God Bless you!! I love all the stories on this thread it's just so Inspiring that even though we're going through The worst thing you can still find inspiration And continue to find the beauty of each day , I think it's so wonderful , and with God on our Side how can we lose. !! Thank you Tea for joining us today on the Prayer call , we missed you and hope you will Get better soon, it's hard for sure all your having To endure right now and I sincerely hope you Are strengthened and encouraged by our Heavenly Father , your in our prayers Tea !! Wow Mel what a train set up !!! I just got a Look at the intricacy of it all , so creative , I Remember when I was a kid and my mom and Dad would buy train sets for my brothers on Christmas , they loved it , we all loved it , my dad Would get down on the floor with all the kids And we would run those trains all day !! Hahaha!!! Boy those were the good old days !!! Those are some beautiful stones Chrissie!! That looks like so much fun, it would be Nice to have a yard to make all pretty but Apartments aren't much fun , but it is what it Is so it's all good !! But that's so nice Chrissie ... Thank you for sharing , it lifts our Spirit !! \ I don't really have a hobby right now , don't Really have anything in mind right now , I have to Spend most of my time with just getting this Together right now , cleaning, reading , learning The diet , and everything else that I have to do , Takes up most of my time, but I used to love To do flower arrangements, I went to school And worked as a floral designer in a flower shop For a year before I moved to Arizona, and I really Did love it , I would like to be able to do it again, On a personal level this time I guess since I Can't do it any other way right now but I'm hopeful I can do what I love again !! Robin how wonderful you could write A children's book, isn't it wonderful how God Can do such awesome things for us even when We're at our worst he shines bright through the Gifts he gives us , beautiful !! To everyone else on the call today, it's a blessing To hear you share your hearts with us , thank you , I hope your journey is a good one , and your Able to grow from the experience !! So I hope everyone of you are doing well And that your life will be better than it was Before all this happened ! Mel guarantees it, he says just ask those who have restored their life's!!!
