CLICK THE PITURE TO WATCH THE VIDEO CLIP

Hello Friends,

I'll be there today. It's been a long time. My journey this last year has taught me so much, and here it is in a nutshell if it may help anyone else:

1. Even if you've had this a long time, you can get better.

2. If you continue to get better, you will eventually get well.

3. Discipline is the key. Wanting it as badly as the main character in the Shawshank Redemption (one of my all time favorite movies) wanted to get out of prison. Consistency over time is the key.

4. You can always start again.

5. Hope is a good thing.

I've submitted this link before...but I think it so represents the prison we all find ourselves in when we allow ourselves to lose hope. The music is the voice we all reach out to, and it allows us to remember hope.

In this scene, Andy, the main character puts himself at considerable risk to offer hope to those in such a dark place. He knew the value of that one little picture in one's mind...that sudden and clear snapshot of what things could be.

That snapshot is powerful...it shows us what can be and encourages us to pursue it with everything we have because in that one magical moment, it becomes real.

I believe today's conference call will be like the opera music on the movie clip.

It occurs to me that Mel is like the Andy character. We talk a lot about how he sacrifices a lot to do what he does. The financial hardship is the most pressing matter in his life, so that comes up a lot, but there's something else too...and that is risk.

It's hard to think about, but yes...those who should have our best interests at heart sometimes do not. The fact that the CDC still suggests that this isn't a real disease is past disturbing. And the evidence that it is real is piling higher and higher every day. So why would it be denied? Why would it be suppressed? The only logical answer is some kind of an agenda.

Most political agendas are money driven, and I can only suppose some entity somewhere would have a lot to lose should this ever be declared the very real disease that it is. Going against the big boys is putting oneself out there. Just as the Andy character did on the opera scene in the Shawshank Redemption, Mel puts himself out there and tells it like it is every day and has for years. The Andy character paid a hard price to offer hope to the hopeless, and I'll leave that thought right there.

I'm looking so forward to today's call. I'm sure it's going to go long...and that is just fine....it should.

Much love to all,

Karen
