As always, I love reading your post. I feel as if I am having a conversation with you in person. Your post just are so enjoyable to read - a mixture of information, seriousness and humor (something to bring a smile to our faces). As you know, I have a great joy for refurbishing my home, too. My family and I have had to "redo" our home 4 times - (once because we wanted to but the other 3 times due to flooding). The flooding issue has since been rectified by elevating our home ten feet. I didn't enjoy the flooding part but I loved being able to design, sand, paint, tile and put my touch on basically everything. It was just so rewarding. I enjoyed it so much that when my son and daughter in law bought an old home almost three years ago, I and the whole family eagerly jumped in to help demo, sand, paint, stain and help with the design in their home. I even stripped, sanded and painted furniture. I only hope that I can do these things again, but with more attention to using masks and gloves that I have in the past. I adore that little tea corner that you created! The quote that inspired you is lovely. It made me so excited to see that beautiful tray because I have one from my mother that looks just like it. However, when I went to get it, I couldn't find it. I was devastated to say the least. But as everyone, know with this disease we go into crazy cleaning, bagging and throwing mode and I feared that I had thrown it away accidentally. This morning I found it and this brought me to the realization that I although I may not be able to move, I need to get my home downsized in material things and make it look pretty again. I had lost my joy and I really want that joy back again. Thank you, Karen! You have really helped me and I pray that this move helps you to bring joy, peace and beauty to your life.
