Hi Hoffnung,

Most people using this protocol do not use antibiotics...but it is ultimately a decision between you and your doctor if you have a doctor. If you don't, then rest assured, many here have gotten well using just the protocol. As a matter of fact, I'd venture to say that most of the people here have not used antibiotics, because the Logos Nutritional protocol (Mel's protocol) has natural antibiotics in it.

It is very hard to worry about contagion and your children. The very best thing you can do is to get well yourself as this will also help your environment. If you cannot do the protocol, then the next most important thing you can do is watch what you eat. If you've been reading this site, then please pay close attention to the posts about diet from the last few months.

Another VERY important thing you can do to help yourself and your environment is to drink the lemonade cleanse. Basically, it's just water, lemon juice, cayenne (red) pepper, and sweetened with stevia. Drink that all day long if you can.

It will help with your PH balance and make your symptoms way easier to deal with.

Your environment will take care of itself as you get well, but in the meantime, just keep everything as clean as you can and wash your hands often. Some people like to wear latex gloves when preparing food for others, or touching things others would come into contact with.

I don't know what products are available in Austria, but just try not to use any harsh chemicals in your cleaning if you can help it. Peppermint essential oils in a spray bottle of water makes a good cleaner. Getting rid of fuzzy things like stuffed animals and fuzzy blankets for until things get better is also a good idea. Using polyester sheets and clothing instead of anything with cotton in it helps me with symptoms, but some people don't need to do that.

It's so hard to keep the kids from wanting junk food, and I know how picky children can be about what they eat in general...but if you possibly can, think clean clean clean eating for everyone in the family. Limit the junk food, sugar and refined carbs for them and encourage them (and yourself) to drink lots and lots of water.

Be careful with your laundry. Soak your clothes after the washing machine tub fills up with water and use borax if you can get it. Borax is also good to add to your cleaning solution, though it's white powder and will leave a residue on surfaces...so if you spray it on, wipe it right off. Also...do a small test area on any surface you will spray with borax water...you don't want to damage your things while getting well...that would leave a bad memory!

Just put things away around your house for now.
Put things in big garbage bags and store them...or...if you have anything that really doesn't mean that much to you, get rid of it. Getting rid of clutter is very helpful. If you can just have big furniture and things that are easily cleaned for now, it will be very helpful. It won't be forever.

As always, you and yours are in my prayers Hoffnung.

I think you have done a very good thing for other German speaking people by starting to post too. Your first post got me started using Google translate to get information to you, and I think seeing posts in German has encouraged other German speaking people to start reading the site.

It makes me very happy to see that so many are finding this site. If you are reading this and speak only German, please don't let that keep you from getting information from this site. I'm sure you all have your translation tools...I use Google Translate and just do a copy and paste of the translation.

There is SO much information on this site that will help you. I encourage all of you to subscribe too, so you can get more help in addressing this disease.

My best to all.

Love,

Karen
