Growing up on the west coast, I didn't see a lot of snow in my childhood either. I remember the first time I did see it though and was so amazed by its beauty. I love the way it covers everything up in a white glittery blanket and how it glistens in the moonlight. To me it looks like a whole bunch of shining crystals. And of course we can all remember our first snowman!
The snowflakes themselves are incredibly amazing. There was a guy by the name of Bentley that photographed them using a bellows camera with a microscope. He has a museum of snowflakes. They are truly amazing and look like incredible works of art. Each one different and so finely etched, more so than any piece of crystal etched by man, and these so small that you need a microscope to see all of their intricacies. Unbelievable!!
