It has unfortunately been a whole two months that Mel has been trying to find a house!!! When he first moved there, there was 230,000 people, now there are half a million!! And now the rents are insanely expensive. And there is not enough supply re housing for the demand. It is an incredibly difficult situation as he has been let down several times and lied to numerous times as well... It's ruthless they are only interested in taking the people with the most income. With averaging twelve people turning up per viewing, if people have more capital Mel is losing out. As he said the world is most certainly not like it was in his youth. But as always, he is stoic and hopeful and is battling on to find something that suits his needs. The good news is that yesterday Mel secured a car that will now enable him to get around without relying on friends to help him view property. Alas, he has had to tap into some funds that he had to help him move to purchase the car!! It's a difficult situation that Mel is in financially as well as the stress he is under to find and secure a suitable home. And time is running out, he does not have long until his lease is up. He is still managing to do conference calls, prayer calls, foundation calls, manage the website, support people on the phone. I think that is pretty amazing that he can still juggle all of this, because he must be under a lot of pressure with having to sort out his own life. It says an awful lot that he still finds time to help the community and people who are in need. Please anyone who is able financially to help Mel in his time of need now, can you send a donation to help him to move. Not only for Mel, but for the wider community here as well! Because without Mel there would be no community which is a sobering thought! He just needs some support, it would help ease the burden that he has. And with that little bit of help and a nice, decent house, which we pray will come up ASAP for him, then he can finally settle in and not be in limbo anymore. Limbo is really not a nice place to be, he has had more than enough to deal with these last few months!!! He doesn't moan, he just gets on with it. But it must be very tiring! GoFundMe.
