Dear All,
Its true that people with Morgellons and Lyme generally cope better in colder weather. When it is hot, if you have symptoms they are much more likely to be worse.
Heat causes blood vessels to dilate. Circulation increases to help the body shed heat. But if you have inflammation and muscle pain increased blood flow can make aching or swelling much more noticeable.
Many of us already have fatigue and increased heat makes our body work harder to regulate our temperature. So we get even more tired!!
We must, must, must drink more water! Losing fluid and electrolytes through sweating can lead to dehydration, dizziness, feeling unwell.
Heat can also aggravate neurological symptoms, like tingling and burning sensations. Cognitive symptoms of brain fog can deteriorate too.
Heat can aggravate biting and crawling sensations. Keep a spray bottle of diluted Kleen Green with you at all times and spray, spray, spray.
Keep in the shade. Don't over do things. Keep hydrated and eat well. Keep on the, 'sum of the parts,' and spray yourself as often as needed. And above all be Kind to you!
Love Chrissie
