Yes, many of us have Lyme Disease as our co-infection. There seems to be a connection, but studies have not figured out what it is. However, not everyone has Lyme as their co-infection. There are even a very few people who only have Morgellons or think so because they have not determined what their co-infection is.
Regardless, it seems that our immune systems were compromised and allowed us to catch this. In my case, I am not sure if bird mites or something else was the vector. I know this answer is somewhat vague, but Morgellons is a very strange disease to say the least.

Ja, viele von uns haben Lyme-Borreliose als Koinfektion. Es scheint eine Verbindung zu geben, aber Studien haben nicht herausgefunden, was es ist. Allerdings hat nicht jeder Lyme als Co-Infektion. Es gibt sogar sehr wenige Menschen, die nur Morgellons haben oder denken, weil sie nicht bestimmt haben, was ihre Koinfektion ist.
Unabhängig davon, es scheint, dass unser Immunsystem kompromittiert wurde und uns erlaubt hat, dies zu erfassen. In meinem Fall bin ich mir nicht sicher, ob Vogelmilben oder etwas anderes der Vektor war. Ich weiß, dass diese Antwort etwas vage ist, aber Morgellons ist gelinde gesagt eine sehr seltsame Krankheit.
