Dear All, The Conference Call Saturday 7th March had as our special guest the most excellent Joe. Joe's wife Karianne had toxic disease and came across the website, Mel and his, 'Sum Of The Parts.' And today she and Joe are doing absolutely great with their health! They are also the proud parents of a beautiful and healthy little girl called Deliliah, who is the apple of her parents eyes:-). There's a wonderful picture here of Joe eating the biggest salad I have ever seen in my life! He looks so happy and healthy and his skin glows!! He loves to eat a lot of plant based healthy salads. He likes a base of spinach leaves, tofu, avocado, a little beans and maybe a small amount of pumpkin seeds. Joe cautions that we listen to responses in our body to the food we eat, especially when we have toxic disease. He says have some organic chicken, salmon or white fish for protein and see how your body reacts. Be like that with everything you eat. Stay away from seed oils they can be old and bad for us. Coconut, extra vigin olive oil and avocado oils are good and Kerrygold butter. You can cook with water too. Joe talked about avoiding processed food and taking in foods as close to nature as possible. Have low carb fruits like strawberry, blueberry, raspberry. Joe reccomended making a smoothie with frozen berries,a little spinach, coconut milk, a few seeds as its delicious and kids and adults love it. I would also encourage people to add avocado to that smoothie. It makes it very creamy and more filling. Avoid syrups and if you take honey make it only a tiny amount later on in your journey, take stevie instead. Avoid dried fruit. You could try a little Grapefruit said Jo, but watch that it isnt too acidic. Of course lemons and limes make great drinks with Stevia in moderation too! A little humous is good for a snack with celery, cucumber sticks in moderation. And Mel said not to forget the creamy Almond butter :-). Jo talked about coconut cream curries with turmeric and garlic (both wonderful for immunity) and tofu being a great protein alongside low carb carbohydrates. You could also have it with cauliflower rice. Someone asked about popcorn. Jo said a little handful ( maybe later in your journey in moderation). Of course cooked healthily! Mel was excited and said hes going to rush out to buy a popcorn maker:-). Tune in to listen to Jo and Mel talk all things nutrition!! Thanks as always Jo and send our love to Karianne and wee Deliliah. Chrissie Coffee, Tea with Me - Saturday 03/07/26 Download Audio File | ||||||
