Morgellons - My new AHA! moments related to treating the environment

Hi Everyone,

Like most people here, my environment has posed intermittent challenges. It all started with a bird’s nest on the porch ceiling a few years back and devolved from there.

That’s a familiar story to many of us and not a fun one...but suffice it to say, that over the years, I’d eliminated the problem for the most part, but for some reason, it’s recently become an issue again. I don’t know why but in working to address it, I’ve had some new “AHA!” moments.

Here are my new discoveries:

1. Ozone machine:

I bought two ozone machines from Foreverozone a couple of years ago. They are the model with the two little plates sticking up and I use them with a fan behind them. The original directions said to use a timer, which I’d purchased, but later discarded believing if a little does a little good, then a lot must do a lot of good...right?

Wrong. I’d used it this summer in my upstairs for several days in a row without turning it off. I figured the fan I’d put behind it would keep the plates cool enough...but I think it didn’t. In any case, I later began to feel like using the machine wasn’t as effective as it had been at the beginning. I now think that my continuous and nonstop use decreased its effectiveness for a couple of reasons.

I recently discovered that Foreverozone has a new model…it’s one that has a little fan built in to keep the ozone plate cool. You still have to use a box fan behind it, but the small directed fan keeps the plate from overheating. It’s not cheap…but for what it can do, it’s a bargain…$129…so I bought one.

I read the directions and realized that the manufacturer had some very specific advice about dealing with mites in the environment. They said the most effective treatment is to pulse the time the machine is on. For example…you are supposed to set the timer for it to run for thirty minute intervals while you are away from home (or out of the room with the doors closed and sealed off…I put a rolled up towel under the doors) and have rest times when the machine is turned off of at least an hour in between.

They suggest pulsing it three times a day like this for a week. This is because the ozone doesn’t kill the eggs, and you need at least a week to get through the egg cycle. I was telling Mel about this pulsing approach and he made some comments about how it’s important to pulse a number of other things in treating toxic diseases...like certain supplements that are antifungal…Immune Pulse…things we put on our skin, etc.

He said this is because of the constant adaptation of the pathogens…we do this to keep them off balance and to keep them from adapting and surviving the things we throw at them to kill them off. This makes sense to me, and of course…I can now see why it would apply to the use of an ozone machine as well.

I just opened my new ozone machine last night, read the directions and attached all the parts (it’s easy). I had to run out the door this morning, so I haven’t set it up and used it yet, but I will soon and report the results.

2. Essential oil diffuser:

I’d found relief by using essential oils around the house...particularly using Kathee’s (Kleen Green / Natural Ginisis) geranium, clove bud and citronella together. I’d gotten cheap and decided not to buy a diffuser...so I’d used mugs on coffee cup heaters with a combination of water and essential oil drops.

That was ok...but I later broke down and bought a diffuser. Here’s what I learned...it’s cheaper to buy a diffuser because you’ll use less oil and what you do use will have greater effectiveness. I found one at Sprouts “on sale” from $49 to $39 and was so proud of myself until Donna M. told me she’d found one just like it at Walmart for MUCH less.

Lol...I now know to always consult Donna M. first...she is the super shopper of all time and always knows where the best bargains are. However...not being a fan of making a trip to Wally World (I’d rather have a root canal), I found a nice one on Amazon for $19.99 and sent it to Mel for a housewarming gift. It had the highest rating for the price and he’s going to tell me how it works once he can find it in his yet to be unpacked boxes and sets it up.

I’d sent it to his old address right before he moved which probably just created more for him to manage, but I digress...here’s what I did differently in relation to my diffuser last night that was a huge “AHA!” moment.

I refilled my diffuser with the usual mixture of water plus lots of drops of the three above mentioned essential oils. Then my eye spied the bottle of Kleen Green and I decided I might just add a little of that to the mix as well.

All I have to say about that is WOW! I’d come home from work and walked into the house last night and started itching...and once I put that diffuser on with the Kleen Green / essential oil mixture I noticed a HUGE difference. It took a few minutes for it to take effect, but it was definitely an upgrade as far as effectiveness in comparison to using essential oils only. The itching went away and stayed away all night.

Ok...once again, I’ve written a book...but this is new information (to me anyway) that I hope will be helpful to others. The rest of the world lives their lives like we all used to...not giving a thought to what’s in the air in their living environments...why would they?

However...once you get something like this in your house...it’s all you can think of...it’s all you can deal with until you can get it to go away. It’s like being on fire...you just can’t sit there and burn...you have to get up and stomp it out or throw water on it or pray for a tsunami to come and wash the whole thing away. Not likely since I live pretty far inland...but this thing can drive you to the brink in trying to figure out solutions.

Hope this helps others!

Love,

Karen

Morgellons - My new AHA! moments related to treating the environment

Hi Julia,

Here's the diffuser I bought for Mel. He hasn't tried it out yet because he can't find the box where he packed his essential oils (yes Mel, I'm telling on you).

URPOWER 2nd Generation 300ml Aroma Essential Oil Diffuser Ultrasonic Air Humidifier

It's got a pretty good rating on Amazon though...and I've found that's usually a good sign.

I bought mine at Sprouts and it's design is called "Victorian" but it basically does the same thing this one does but with a fancy design on the outside. They both diffuse and change LED light colors.

Hope this helps!

Love,

Karen

Morgellons - My new AHA! moments related to treating the environment

Hi Chris,

Everything I've read says to get out of the house when an ozone machine is on and when you're airing the house out after it's turned off. However...sometimes you just can't leave...so...when that's been the case for me, I just close off the room I'm going to ozone and then put rolled up towels under the doors to block it off.

That's worked for me without a problem, but just know I'm not an ozone "professional" and am just telling my own personal experience with doing this. Please make your own decisions related to what the instructions direct you to do.

Love,

Karen

P.S. It really hasn't caused any problems for me to do it in a blocked off room when I'm home though.
