My sister Emily lived in a huge old farmhouse that was once the summer home of socialite Clara Winters, aunt of comedian Jonathan Winters. Emily wanted to honor the home by hosting cheerful holiday gatherings and she did as often as she could. One Christmas I looked around and appreciated how full the house was with three sides of the family, infinite kids and SO MANY DOGS! I was so amused and it was adorable so I decided to filled the stairs with my nephews, nieces and all the fur babies. I remember the moment well, especially how the kids were calmed for the photos by the grounded love of the animals. (My three babies are the tiny Yorkie girls diagonally up from bottom left)
