Hopeful

I've been through car accidents, one that took many years to recover from, severe illnesses that almost killed me and MG now twice. Some things I've learned going through healing in my life that hope encourages others. One is that it is a process. It's important we give ourselves permission and shift our expectations to allow for this. Process is not instant.

The second thing and most important is that throughout the process of my healing journey (which has been over half my life now) I can say there has been a huge difference in my experience before knowing Jesus and after knowing Him.

Before, I would end up very discouraged after years of trials, when the doctors couldn't help or after trying all sorts of things without true change...but when I heard the full gospel for the first time one day on TV, I invited Jesus into my life and I was suddenly filled with a love, hope and joy that I had never had before right there in my living room.

As I began to listen to cd teachings on the Bible when I was bedridden and not strong enough to read the Bible yet faith would come. The Bible says, faith comes by hearing the word of God. Well it did! The Bible is true. I began to learn that Jesus took my infirmities for me, that by His wounds I'm healed (Isa 53), I did not know that before. I did not understand how much God actually loved me personally and how He laid down His life for me. Wow...I began to learn that there is a devil and he comes to steal, kill and destroy but Jesus came to give us abundant life (John 10:10). That changed everything as well. I realized these ailments I kept experiencing were not from God, that the devil was the one bringing destruction in my life and things could change because Jesus was on my side. I learned as I prayed and stood on God's promises God faithfully answered prayers. Some things were fast miracles and some a slow process of healing, like layers to an onion. Some promises I'm still standing on today by faith years later.

Knowing the Lord and being able to rest in His love, pray to Him and stand on His promises in the Bible has changed everything as I continue through the process of healing. It has been like day and night. No, all my problems didn't go away. I still got MG twice and I'm still going through Mel's protocol. I'm still dealing with other things but my hope is now in Jesus. I know now that I'm loved and never alone. Even if things seem unbearable at times He will give me the peace and strength to get me through it. I know I'm already healed by faith, I'm just going through the process.

If you want to invite the Lord into your life too all you need to do is say something like: Lord Jesus, I know I'm a sinner and I believe You died for my sins on the cross to save me. You died and rose again on the 3rd day. I ask You into my heart and life now, be my Lord and Savior. Thank You, in Jesus' Name, Amen. If you pray that prayer the Bible says you have become a new creation in Christ, the old things have passed away and behold all things have been made new!
