Sorry you're going through this.... I have to agree with the consensus. Although it's hard, this will certainly set you back in regard to healing. I had a pet for 15 years that I had to get rid of - not just for me, but for the pet's safety as well. It was far from easy, but it was something that had to do be done.
I don't want anything to delay your healing! It seems like you have to give up so much with this disease but in the end, you will be stronger.
