Hi Nick,

I'm so sorry you had to deal with the skin issues again, but I do have a few thoughts related to same that may help.

Here they are:

1. This stuff cycles. It moves around...and it will continue to purge out of your skin periodically, but in diminishing amounts unless you feed it. But don't despair...even if you accidentally feed it, you'll find you can get it back under control quicker and with less of an issue as you progress on your journey. The big trick is not to give into the fear...and your position statement and determination when you "spoke to the disease" illustrate that point in the best way possible. I'm not saying I'm happy you went through this...but I AM so happy that you broke through the fear and wrote about it to share with others. Your description of what happened when you decided to lose the fear is exactly what Mel is talking about when he discusses not getting stressed or giving into fear...because not doing so has a very immediate and positive effect on your symptoms and recovery.

2. Here's an easy fix...lose the rice, beans, and tangerines. Those are full of sugar and you're feeding the pathogens. If you are doing so well right now after having consumed those foods, just imagine what kind of progress you'll make if you get your net carbs down to the 20 - 30 range!

This may be what you view as an uncomfortable setback, but it's actually given you much good information...one...you're skin expression is less this time, two, you now can see the effects of particular foods (and then make adjustments), and three you had a very vivid experience in how you can control it with your attitude...and four...you gave the rest of us a very articulate explanation of how controlling your emotions had such an immediate and positive effect.

You're really on your way Nick!

Love,

Karen
