Well my friends, it may be true that we are not allowed sugar!! However, flights of the imagination are indeed allowed!!!!! Join me in a little day dream and feel free to add your own little day dreams here, it will be fun to read them :-). An Ode to Cake wondrous cake!!!!!!! ......... I open the door as it chimes a little welcome bell! I imagine the bell saying to me, "Come in!!! come in, we have gorgeous sweet delicate delicacies for your eager tastebuds. They will be happy and satiated and will taste in absolute wild abandon what we are going to give you!!!" The young pretty fraulein at the counter smiles at me,as she ushers me in. Her lips and nails painted red, her eyes the colour of the sky outside. Her teeth the colour of the white clouds zooming by outside the window. I know that the fraulein is talking to me, but I cannot hear her words. I am instantly transfixed at the abundant delights that quickly crowd into my eyes. I see fresh cream everywhere, light, fluffy and lip-lickingly enticing me!!!! Raspberries, strawberries and blueberries sit perkily winking at me from their fruity perches!! They sit on top of mountainous ravages of deep sponge. Dark chocolate, lemon zesty and vanilla pillows of downy soft spongy goodness call to my every sense!!! Meanwhile, Jam every colour of the rainbow dares me to lick at it and take a tantalising bite into a sticky yet very pleasurable universe. The icing will not be undone by its colourful and seductive cousins!! It beckons me to come and stick a finger or two into its luscious depths. I so want to devour the richness and quality of the various intense flavours. I am lost and I am found all at the same time. I look up at the fraulein. "I will have........ THE STRAWBERRY GATEAU PLEASE!!!!!" She picks up a plump and luscious slice and delicately wraps it in light paper adorned with pictures of red roses. She smiles, money exchanged and I walk out with my wondrous gift and a wide smile of anticipation on my face. I sit in the sun, unwrap and carefully sink the little plastic fork in. Strawberries, cream, jam and sponge all merge together, as I close my eyes and taste. I am transported to my own little piece of heaven!!! My taste buds feel ecstatic, free, happy and completely content!!! :-). The end. Chrissie (now don't go doing this at home!!! no matter how delicious it sounds!!! :-)) | ||||||

Wow Chrissie! This was so good and yummy and it’s making me hungry!!!! Your mind is so creative and shares so much wonder and that helps the imagination.
