I am not a diabetic but my daughter has had Type 1 Diabetes for almost 20 years, she was diagnosed 1 month before her 12th birthday. It was a sad time in our lives for sure "but" definitely taught us both MANY things including discipline with BOTH food and lifestyle.
The important thing to remember is ALL carbohydrates turn into sugar during the digestive process. So does ANYONE including someone with diabetes need white processed sugar in their diets??? Absolutely NOT!!! We ALL do however, need to choose good and nutritious carbs to eat... vegetables are number one for us when healing from a toxic disease and at some point small amounts of fruit can be added too!!! Typically these fruits are green apples, blueberries & strawberries but again only small amounts and it's best to talk to Mel about when to add them.
Lastly, as I know you know, carbs will raise your blood sugar... BUT again an important thing to remember is that protein will help keep it elevated and fiber will also help keep your blood sugar level regulated as well... so be sure you're getting a good carb/protein/fiber ratio in your diet.
If you're not yet using Logos Renaissance Activated Whey Protein, I would definitely recommend you add that to your daily routine, ASAP!!!
Also you can google foods high in protein and fiber and low in carbs and then choose our Protocol friendly foods from that list.
I hope this helps in someway!!!
Love, Peace & MANY Prayers, Deanna
