Hi Donald,

Thank you so much for your post. I think you and I have a few symptoms that are similar it seems. Are you the one that said your feet stick to the floor? I don't remember if it was you or Neal that because I was cleaning while listening to the call.

The cold water doesn't usually cause that reaction for me, but the only cold water I come into contact with is when I soak my head in the cold water every morning. My showers are usually lukewarm. But it happens alot in the morning, especially if a sound wakes me up, like the phone ringing. I also noticed that my dog is also very sensitive to sounds now and is easily startled and I wonder if he feels pain too. Hopefully not. But also when I do physical activity it sometimes happens as well. I believe this disease does impact the nervous system and makes it more sensitive, but also that the cortisol in the body makes them more active. It may be that the anticipation of the cold or the cold water hitting your skin causes your body to release cortisol into your bloodstream and then they feed on it (like Mel said) which then causes moving, electrical or even a pain sensation.

The sand stuff comes out of my skin quite a bit. Especially when my skin is wet and when I wash my face. If I soak in the bath and scratch my skin with my fingernails it seems as if it comes out continuously. However, I don't really take baths anymore because the hot water actually causes them to multiply even more somehow (maybe the fungal aspect of it). But I see it on the floors too. I remember not too long ago I was sweeping and there was all this sand everywhere. I thought it was just dead skin that sluffed off my dog (he has a skin condition), but later I came to the realization that it came off of me!

I'm glad your EKG came out OK. I get heart palpitations sometimes and in the beginning I was afraid of them. Now it doesn't cause me anxiety anymore because I know they will pass and that so far they haven't been serious enough to cause any real harm.

I'm glad you joined the forum! We are all here for one another and for me the people are becoming like family to me. We all are brothers and sisters in Christ and I feel very blessed to know each and everyone.

If you ever need to talk to any one of us, contact Mel and he will give us your phone number. I've been talking to a few people, and it really helps to talk to someone for reassurance.

God Bless!
Anna
