Thank you all so much for all of the prayers and encouragement through the first surgery and second surgery I had to have, and while I have been recovering. For those who don't know, after I had the first surgery, I had to have another surgery to remove a fibrous loop that had grown around an area of my small colon. That growth has been choking that area for several years now, allowing only a very small amount of anything to pass through. Needless to say, that has caused me a lot of problems over the past several years, but for whatever reason they did not find that growth until it had completely closed that section off, creating a complete blockage. That happened while I was recovering from the first surgery, causing me to have to have a second surgery, but I am just thankful that it did happen so that it could be fixed. This coming Monday I will have been home for 3 weeks, and while I am still healing, I am much better than I was 3 weeks ago. I know that I am moving forward in my healing. I would appreciate your continued prayers that my digestive system will begin to operate as it should. That would help me by leaps and bounds! That section of my lower colon was being strangled by that fibrous loop for so long that it will take weeks or months for it to open back up to normal size. The doctor is certain that will happen. He is just not sure how long it will take. Anyway, it is all good news because while it might take a while, I am at least moving in the right direction and some serious internal issues have been repaired. I sincerely appreciate so much all of the kindness that has been shown to me and all of the wonderful prayers that have been prayed for me. Mel, I saw the beautiful angel that you posted under More Communication Is Better that had written underneath, "Let's All Pray for Our Cheryl." That touched my heart so much. Philippians 1:9-11 (NIV) 9 And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, 10 so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, 11 filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God.
