Jenny S. 12/7/2017 8:58:26 AM edit upload | Hi Emily, I have experienced this as well. My crawling sensations increase about a week before and all the way through. The intensity of it has improved the longer I have been on the protocol, however, it is still a bummer around that time. I believe pushing water and really focusing on diet can help. Best of luck to you! Jenny S. |
Bel 12/5/2017 7:37:17 AM edit upload | Hello Emily, Yes, I get incredible crawling and biting the week before and the week of my period and if a full moon is thrown in the mix on those weeks woooow watch out. I believe I've read this is because our immune system is at it's lowest during this time. This is from https://www.livestrong.com/article/547605-how-to-keep-my-immune-system-up-during-menses/ The body can be particularly receptive to outside factors during the menstrual cycle, such as stress, and immune system cell changes, notes the United States National Library of Medicine. The body goes through it's cyclic repair during mensus, as the many molecular and cellular interactions that are part of menstruation take place. (It's worth a read if you get around to it) It goes on to say that eating well- lots of nutrients like in vegetables, exercise, sleep and drinking lots of water help the immune system. I personally find all those things help and also everything that Chrissie said- lots of lemon water, also exercise helps immensely even if it's just a walk and sunshine, if I miss a couple of days without sun it's a lot worse, 20 mins a day is enough, with as much skin out as you can. Lastly when it's really bad like too painful to make it through the day/night I also sit in a bath (Or like me if you don't have a bath, a giant 150L tub of water) with Epsom salts and baking soda. I hope some of this helps you :) Regards Bel |
Chrissie 12/4/2017 8:15:19 AM edit upload | Yes Emily, My symptoms always get worse when I have my period or any hormonal problems. I know it is distressing, I Try to keep my stress levels down, take my meds, eat healthily, drink plenty of lemon water. Have epsom salt baths, stay in Bath longer to help symptoms. Spray skin particularly problem areas with mms solution made into a spray. Mel told me recently about that eight activated drops in a 8oz spray bottle filled with water and spray when needed. Cold sore cream also helps on sores and cuts. Kleen green and sulphur soap are good too. And rest and sleep. It's not easy that hormones when they are all over the place seem to feed this illness but we can take those small steps (slow but steady) to help ourselves at this time.. Chrissie |
