Hi Jul,

Thanks for your excellent question.

Mineral imbalances are quite common - especially among the chronically ill (for whom the Burgstiner Wellness Protocol was developed). What is typically seen is zinc deficiency and/or copper toxicity. Zinc, copper and to some extent manganese are all antagonistic minerals, so an excess of one can inhibit the absorption of the other.

Copper, while it is important, is needed in only trace amounts while zinc is much more biologically diverse in metabolism.

Thymic Formula in conjunction with the Burgstiner Wellness Protocol is sold in a 120 count bottle and calls for a serving size of four captabs per day which contains only 30 mg of zinc, so we are not concerned about people getting too much.

Thanks again Jul. Keep up the good work!

Blessings,

John

Hi there, I had some mineral imbalances that have caused me to scrutinize every ingredient of my supplements all the time, and I was wondering why the zinc proportion to copper is very high in the thymic formula, in favor of zinc. I'm sure there's a reason.
Anyways I'm trying to learn more about zinc and copper, and was told that it's usually taken in a 10:1 ratio. If John might have a moment to explain why this is helpful for us, or if anyone else is knowledgeable about the subject, I'd love to learn more.
I know that the immune system needs zinc. But copper is important too. Trying to figure it out...!
Also, I feel like I was always cautioned as a child not to take too much zinc. I don't know what exactly would happen, but my Mum always said this. So I wanted to also know why these are safe for long term use.
Thank you much <3
With love, Jul
