Here is what has been helpful for me. The shorter your hair the easier to manage. Mel's cold (I use ice water from refrigerator) water scalp treatment worked wonders and eliminated 90% of the issues the first week. Morning and evening thoroughly soak hair with as cold a water you can stand for as long as you can. I use ice water poured over my head until I experience "brain freeze" and do this several times. Then towel dry well and spray with 91% alcohol being mindful of vapors and eyes (keep eyes closed and hold breath). Now run a comb several times through the hair rinsing off whatever accumulates. Let this dry and follow with a soaking spray of Kleen Green and after a few minutes comb through as above and allow to dry. Do this morning and evening. I now have no scalp symptoms, but continue this routine to make sure the scalp remains symptom free.
I have found that I need no other shampoos or treatments to keep the hair clean and shiny. If you choose to try this I hope it works as well for you as it does for me. Remember to keep your combs and brushes clean and sanitized with the alcohol.
