Hi Kate, I was waiting to see if anyone else replied - and thought I would chime in for what helped me with cleaning and also some reminders.

First of all, remember that Mel just said "cleaning" was not in the list of top things to tend to when healing. It is hard to grasp this at first because we are all so grossed out - freaked out - feeling dirty - while being sick and worn down, filled with fear or exhaustion and just strained. Peter shared about the exterminator he had come and many of us boiled clothes (whew). So for me, some of the early cleaning duty comes also with the thinking that this MD is in the dermis and is treated topically. It is coming from the small and large intestine and is related to fungal infection and a load of pathogens that have impaired your "white blood cell" ability to combat.

So the focus should be on building immunity and reducing the pathogen load as you rebuild your bio terrain. Yes, We need to keep our house in order and maintain clothes, bedding, and cars and all that (someone else just recently posted about the fibers in the careened on black clothes) and so I will share my thoughts on this next.

2. The environment.

I did not use Kleen Green, but in hindsight I would have bought this first! I would have used it for pets, carpet, skin, etc.

But here is what I did. In month two, I power cleaned the environment and never had to do it again that detailed after that. I cleaned all windows, washed all curtains, and over a few weeks time, had family help me do each room in the house. Just in case there was a source in the house, I wanted to get at it. I found one moth behind an oil painting - and so now yearly I will take down any art and just wipe there - just like dusting for cobwebs in the spring.

After I had this few weeks of power cleaning - I just felt better. I still was thinking bird mites and whatnot at that point, but I was able to use baking soda around the house to keep things mildew free and fresh. I bought large bags of it from a wholesale store. I also used borax and love this mineral. My online friends raved about baking soda and borax baths and whatnot - and well, both products were and are key for me. I also used a sprinkle of DE in the window ledges.

I have pets so I applied at night, but my spouse has raved about how it stops flies immediately. We live near horses and sometimes have flies in the house. It would be annoying and the light DE in windows is something I will use forever. Do be careful with small kids - and so baking soda in the windows would be the better choice. We had people ask about it at times an I just said it was a de-mildew thing. which is true.

Then I kept my bedding separate - it made me feel better. I sprinkled borax under my sheets and had some leftover king size flannel sheets I cut in half and would place on top of the bedding. I could have gone a few days with same sheet, but for my peace of mind, I changed daily - and had enough for seven full days. I could do laundry once a week if I wanted to - and I would sprinkle borax on any waiting clothes or bedding. I bought some high thread count pillow cases from a discount store and these could be washed with hot water and bleach (or mms) - and later I want to share a story about my favorite foam pillow). But I would also sprinkle borax inside the pillow cases and was able to have a nice cotton fabric for pillow. I know some folks that used plastic everywhere and whew, that is rough.

For clothes, I just modified my wardrobe. Not tough for me because I am a plain kind of dresser. My clothing has never been my art - but even if it was - I was serious about getting well. I bought discount skirts and light cotton shirts that could be washed well. I went back to wearing darker clothes, but changing my options was easy. I also kept my hair short and it helped ease things too.

For laundry - i ended up using Dr. Bronners peppermint soap and one cup of borax. As I healed, I used regular laundry soap and sprinkled my own clothes with borax.

Anyhow, because I did that major house cleaning early on -like did corners in the house and all curtains -well it made me feel better and I could coast. My husband bought this new spin mop one month and so for a while - he would weekly do the floors. oh so nice - but I could only vacuum and do floors once a week - if that. I have pets and so some days I would look down and see it needed to be done- but I aimed for a weekly vacuum or weekly floor scrub. Or sometimes I would just feel led to vacuum the area around my bed or in hall. Or I would just wipe a certain area of kitchen floor - or would ask my hubs to do it for me - he was and is such a help.

I had the teens and everyone stop wearing shoes upstairs. Wish I did this sooner. I never walked on any downstairs floors barefoot - but had to be careful because early on, sock bands were nesting sources - or the flip flop prong was a spot they would nest at. So I would wear slides with socks one day and flops the next. Plastic Slippers another day - and just changed it up and when in doubt - sprinkled some baking soda about.

I also kept baking soda on skin sometimes - or had the period of using clay and vinegar - or sonnes clay - or light alcohol application to dry things up for that season near the end.
And so in my opinion, set up a once a week day for house cleaning. if you can't get to your weekly cleaning - (and let's be honest - this is hard because we are ill and have so much to cope with) well at those times, I would use a few natural products to help clean the air around the house.

Go to discount stores or thrift stores and buy some extra quality bedding and set yourself up with some leeway and laundry and outfit options.

My clothes were "not me" for a while and our King Size bed was stripped of our nice ending sets. Just for a while.... it was dust ruffle free and in the attic went the duvet and whatnot. I had my little area set up for a LONG time - on top of the king size bed I would put a bottom sheet for me, a top and my two pillows and then I would just change this daily or every two days. Side note - spouse and I were still intimate pretty much daily - but that is because he was never grossed out by any of this.

Also, we knew we were in crisis and healing mode and who really cares how the bedroom looked or if my outfits were bland. I found discounted "Loft" clothes - cotton skirts, long sleeve shirts, awesome pants, etc. - and some Old Navy clearance goodies or Target brand clothes. They were my healing clothes that were easy to wash and all that. Also - always wash brand new clothes before wearing.

Daily showers with peppermint soap helped skin so much. I was very careful when going outside in my yard because that often led to scratches - some of the things in the dermis seemed to surface (and scratch) when I was in my garden.

In the car, I sprayed with alcohol and let dry. I sprinkled Baking soda on floor - sometimes borax - sometimes essential oils. or a little DE. The 50% alcohol spray was great. I Did use lysol at times, but hate the smell. And again, I think Kleen Green is what many now use.

3. Energy

Well even before MD - I recall being exhausted at night tending to small kids. Looking for toothpicks to hold the eyes open - or the spouse and I taking turns. So all the more I can sympathize with the effort it takes to raise kids while healing from MD. But I suggest sleeping or resting with kids. If they do not want to nap, then read and read children's books. Hours of exploring lit with my kids helped shape us all - and sometimes just counting items in picture books or exploring new ones because sources of lessons and discussions with growing minds. You could be resting while this happens. I always slept with my kids during their naps - and we had a nice video (of music and singing) that became a nap video for a while. Try things like this - and I am sure you are experienced as a momma - but sharing ideas just in case.

Also, find ways to take naps. I know funds can limit hiring help, but short naps can be powerful.

Food for energy is a tricky thing while healing from MD. I know people who get this do not think they had a suppressed immune system - like someone who recently healed and moved on said that she did not have any immune issues - but then she said she had two rounds of antibiotics that summer for an infection.

So let me just say this - those of us who are healing must rebuild our immune system. This will improve energy naturally and also help us to fight this disease. Our white blood cells have been shut down and our mucosa lining is smothered and not working like it should. Our body systems have not been supported for a while and so the two pronged approach is to rebuild immunity while reducing the parasite load.

Mel's protocol aims to do both - the Logos supplements feed and nourish the organs and body. The different extensions and supplements help reduce parasites and pathogens. You said that you cannot buy the full protocol yet and I am not sure what that means. But I know a big mistake is to think that the MMS is enough to cure MD. It is not enough. It does effectively combat some pathogens, but because we need to nourish our organs and tissues and repair the gut - the Logos supplements are key.

Early on, I did very good at scrubbing the inside - and it served me well, but did not heal me - it was not until I felt the life giving Logos items when my bioterrain really got the boost and fortification it needed. A few other brands helped - and I stubbornly stayed away from Mel's protocol because I thought it was too promoting of Logos. But who cares if it is - as long as it works. The proof is in the pudding - so to speak.

And so when you say you cannot afford the full protocol yet, I am not sure what it means you are taking. I was going to say be sure to take a good B-complex and a good multi. But not all multis are absorbable and some may waste money.

Then I would say you need a good omega 3, but it has to have DHA and other special constituents - and it has to be bioavailable. Then I would say a probiotic is a must (to send in the Marines to help your gut) and then I would say a good cal/mag is a must - oh and liver support for sure- because it filters the body and all that, but it has to be a nice formula to be effective because things work together - and you see - then we end up back to the Logos wellness kit. It has been designed and tweaked and each product is custom balanced for absorption and effectiveness. This is why it helps people heal.

This is why I respect Logos products and it is why I write right now - Logos items are comprehensive and they have the best multi vitamin around (Thymic) - I do like sonne's beets and greens - but they are even more expensive than Logos stuff.

But because you are rebuilding your entire system - you need these different components to feed cells, help metabolism and help organs work better - and to reduce biofilm and combat the pathogens.

Mel experimented with all this for many years as he fought for healing. And what I really like about those at this "Mel's Morgellons" site is that they are still "open" to new ideas that can possibly speed up the protocol. In fact, Mel was super excited to say they had folks healing in ten months. So they want speedy! They will research suggestions first before promoting anything new, like when I thought DMSO would be helpful - they were very open to my idea. I am glad they did not include it in, but it felt so nice to be heard and to have a voice.

And even recently with changing the MMS to twice a day shows how the folks here WANT people well. As much as John B obviously must get some product bump here - and I think Mel should get some compensation - lol - but as much as this might be the case - the folks here are all about getting people WELL as fast as possible. They want the healing as short as possible and I bet JohnB feels affirmed and glad that his products heal and are effective. A sense of pride should ensue.

And When Mel insists we do not eat sugar and that stay away from bread - and when Peter encourages us to do the right thing with all the tips - and to stay the course - well it is for our benefit and to help us heal quickly. Also, they mean it when they say that everyone's body is so different - and so that is why they know we need to tweak the protocol for what our body needs. A beautiful openness that is still grounded in what they have seen to be effective.

Also, those at this forum are constantly remind everyone to keep their eye on the healing process. Too often folks want to get distracted and expound on a strongyloid infection or study different pathogens. And while we DO need to understand some of this, the real focus should be on things that heal and on getting well.

I know we read this here a lot - but it cannot be said enough - put your energy on getting well. There might be important pathogens to study - or could be interesting tidbits about how a worm moves through the body - but the best thing to focus on is healing and REBUILDING THE BODY TERRAIN so that we are not a good home for these critters. We want to change our body so it no longer can host these pathogens. And sometimes we need to study pathogens and healing as it overlaps - but I was reading some back posts and someone was sarcastically asking for a scientific response about whether or not soda was really that bad. Really????

Now, yes, I know there are crazy symptoms with this MD- but a faith analogy comes to mind. The verse about being wise concerning good and not wise about evil - it reminds us to redirect focus.

We do not need to study all the cults and details of evil things in the world when we know the power of God and what Christ has done for us. I know there are some non-Christ followers who are here for help and maybe this is a time of seeing a new side to faith for you - maybe this is a time of getting away from religion and seeing that spirituality is different - because I know many people have religious baggage from the not so wholesome Christians they have encountered in the past. But they are not what faith is really about - and we are the church and we bring our sanctuary with us.

Anyhow, the Bible does say that we are also to be aware of the wiles of the enemy so we can fortify and know - but we still do not overfocus on evil. In this simple kind of way we focus on living a spirit-filled life as we learn to embrace the grace of God and let God lead and feed.

He is strongest when we are weak - which is a paradox, but sometimes this healing journey is the only way we see the truth about a God who is all knowing, all powerful, all-loving and fully in control. He knows the future as clear as we know the past and He knew you would be here now - and so call on Him now to reveal insight and wisdom for each day. He is a loving, healing, and life-giving God and it is new day to explore this and see for yourself.

Anyhow, all that to say that it helped me to keep my focus on helping and study some pathogens - but to keep balance. For example, I am glad to understand that some parasites reproduced in my lungs and then needed to be swallowed from phlegm to get back into my gut. It helped me to know to spit as much as possible and to clean my sinus area better. But what helped me the MOST was to rebuild my terrain.

I decided to not go through a bunch of tests and placed my aim at killing the biggest infections, which I considered to be tapeworm (or nematode) infection and candidiasis. I felt as if I targeted these two - in the "do no harm" and slow going way while the Logos goodies helped me restore the terrain - it would help me regain my health (and I was right).

I know someone who took 36 months to heal her arthritis by healing from candidiasis and she was my inspiration. So early on, I aimed for a 36 month protocol - I picked that long time just to NOT get overwhelmed and to see the overall picture. I read and researched, but stayed open and let God lead. I healed in less than 24 months - and it would have been sooner if I went the Logos way early on and if I did not work too soon around mold and pulled all-nighters. Duh!

But I was stubborn and really thought I could make my own protocol or that I could "push it" without sleep. I did pretty well for months, but I feel like I would have been on the "four year healing plan" - like Mr. CS and others - without Logos stuff.

And so if you cannot afford the full protocol yet, try to. Seriously, sell stuff or borrow or just find a way. Pray about it and see what God can do too. It will be a gift to you and I would say to at least get the Thymic Formula. But again, you also need enzymes and a good omega. You can drink kefir for flora, and need to get vitamin C, and then you need stuff for your bacterial load and fungal base here. I think sonne's clay #7 and fiber is a must for pathogen reduction (or sonnes 7 with the colon cleanse from "health plus" will clean the small intestine quite well).

But do try and find a way to have the protocol for yourself for 90 days and see how you feel. Try to find a way to get a 90 day supply and prove for yourself the value of this. I know it is hard - and I pray for everyone right now who might be waiting to get the full protocol - and pray for those who are on it and who are waiting for it to do its magic at the cellular level. Or I pray for those who are still skeptical and feel sluggish to move ahead.

In closing, dear Kate, read back posts about cleaning and about what many have said - like I think many folks say they did way too much cleaning early on. So relax and aim to clean one day a week. Find ways to set yourself up for less stress. Enjoy your kids and read with them, born with them and know that "this too will pass" - and use some baking soda and alcohol (or Kleen Green) on days you feel the environment needs help.
But let me end with what Mel always says:

"If you learn the four mantras of our website:
First, do no harm.
Second, everybody's body is different.
Third, it's the sum of the parts.
Fourth, slow and steady.
Please notice, nowhere does it say clean."

Ahhh - that is good news and so i am sending you a virtual hug - mom to mom - and one healing person to another. This is an enduring healing journey - but you can do it. :)
