Hi Karen,

Wow that post was so eloquently and beautifully put!

I was sorry I missed the conference call on Saturday where Thomas spoke and I will definitely listen to it when it comes out.

My Lord the bit when you said, "be careful what you wish for," really struck a huge chord for me. And your explanation re, 'baptism of fire.'

This is because I prayed day and night to get the flat that eventually had bird mites in it, which caused all of this... AND just before the bird mites happened, I had been concerned about a loss and had actually repeatedly asked god to help me to come to terms with impermanence, death and dying!!
Those were my EXACT WORDS!!! BAM.. Next thing I knew I was swarmed at by the mites, bitten on my feet, birds nest fell in my bedroom from the roof.... And life as I and my little cat knew it was never the same again.

Oh yes I learned immediately about impermanence, death and dying. Everything fell away. Within seven months I lost my home, my cat, my belongings and almost me.

And dear Karen I have said repeatedly to many people since this happened those exact words..., 'be careful what you wish for.'
I'm not going to lie, it was a horrendous way to learn about impermanence, death and dying. But LEARN I DID.

If you lose everything just like that you have to start again, pick yourself up,find ways to get stronger day by day.. you are learning. For many months, even years you hold onto god and pray day and night for God to see you through. Sometimes, God is all you have, but you are so grateful when you feel you cannot take anymore suffering and then you feel God's love and warmth and care shining down on you...And you survive.

Many times I felt like a human skittle, getting knocked down, bouncing back up, only to fall down again and then up....We wade through the trenches.. We may be knee deep in mud BUT WE GET UP AGAIN.

As Mel says our love for life and living it is too strong not to fight. We hold onto our spirit, we hold onto god and we
endure for better days. And better days do come.

Of course for six and a half years I was not on the protocol.
I want to stress that if people get on the protocol and do the, 'sum of the parts,' as soon as they are able their healing journey will be quicker and less painful, I assure you.

I have been speaking to someone for weeks now who is understandably scared re having animals and this disease. But I promised her, gave her my word that as she improves, her animals will too. As long as both are treated at the same time. She needed proof.. Well who better than our very own Ruth from England who has cats and is doing the very merry happy dance, completely healed as we speak. Well this woman was very happy indeed to hear this :-). And I was very pleased to tell her too.

We will never be the same people we were. There are losses no doubt about it. But we are definitely a lot stronger because of what we have endured and do endure. Yes I agree with Karen, we mature, are much less ego centered, more spiritually focused, more independent, often fiercely independent because we have to be, but it's also wonderful to be part of a community and to help each other,to show each other support and care.

We become much more humble, we learn not to sweat the small stuff and we appreciate the little things so much more. And we are being taught to take it a day at a time, there's a lot we can control, but a lot we cannot... And that is life.

We do the best we can with what we can change. As Mel says about life and situations,"it is what it is. "

It's a blessing to be part of this community, to be helped by many lovely people who are uniting together to help each other.

God bless everyone in this community and thank you for your support and care.

God bless everyone who goes through this dis-ease. It's definitely not an easy journey, but we do gain strengths that we never thought possible.

Love Chrissie
