Sorry the cats claw tea was so bitter!. Could you boil it up in a saucepan and add a couple of dried cloves,chopped fresh ginger and a cinnamon stick?. I think they could make it not only bearable, but actually quite nice. They would also help its healing and anti inflammatory properties.
Rio Amazon sell cats claw teabags in Amazon. com (USA) and amazon uk. They also are sold via Holland and Barretts website in the UK. They are quite expensive especially in the USA as they are imported from the UK. But they include cinnamon, ginger, cardamom and orange peel. They are quite nice and subtle to drink. I was lucky enough to buy half price in store as nobody was purchasing them :-).
So, I haven't tried this, but even adding a few cardamon seeds or orange peel or lemon peel or maybe a drop of boyajian orange oil after boiling could work on the plain dried tea as well.
