I like your comparison to “Ground Hog Day.” That is exactly how I feel. This diseases takes so much perseverance; even more than school did. But I look at this as an education for our life. I want my life back and I will not settle for anything less. However, I will keep the good qualities of the old Laura, let the not so good qualities stay buried and add the needed changes to the new Laura. This community is where we all need to be in order to heal physically, spiritually, and emotionally. There is no way family or friends could ever know what we are going through. Therefore, we should accept this and continue to heal through a community where we are understood.
I know school will be a challenge for your time. So prepared your lunches and vitamins the evening before and make sure you get to bed at a decent time. Welcome the time you study as a way of temporarily escaping this disease. I know while I am working I almost feel normal and for a short time; forget about this disease.
Please keep us posted on your progress and stay with it until you have successfully crossed the finish line. I pray you and I can cross it together and help pull or push others to do the same.
A very wise warrior shared with me that one day we will understand God’s plan for us through this disease. So embrace the lessons, the fellowship and scripture as you heal.
