Dear Donna,

Your post just makes my heart sing. You have gone the hard miles and now you're enjoying the victory. You deserve this so much for all of your discipline, faith, and consistency. Your heart is so pure...you put your family and others first always...even in the darkest days of your suffering. Your kindness shines through to all of us, and I am so grateful that you are my friend.

It's so exciting to see that you are back to doing normal things and getting to spend time with your precious grandchildren. There's nothing better than that, and your grandchildren are so fortunate to have you as their grandmother. I know they love you so much and are so happy to have their Nonna back.

Thank you for always being there for all of us. You are so kind to continue to stay involved in the community after getting to the finish line. It takes a lot to go through this, and many would want to leave the journey part in the rear view mirror. Not you...you said all along you would stay connected after getting well, and here you are...as good as your word...always.

For those of you reading this who don't know, Donna and I live about five hours apart (four hours and 46 minutes according to Google Maps). We have often talked about meeting in person on the gazebo on the Bayou Teche under the Evangeline Oak in St. Martinsville, Louisiana when I'm completely well I'm looking forward to the day that can happen...and I really believe it will happen in 2019...maybe late in the year...but that's the direction I'm going.

When I'm completely well, I'll also take a page from your book and stay around to encourage others who are still on the journey. You are a great example!

Love,

Karen
