Don't worry, be happy, it may not be what you think
Hello Everyone,

Here is a story with a good ending...things weren’t as bad as I thought!

This morning, I got in my car to drive to work. It was a usual morning...except for one thing...today (Friday) is the day that precedes a one week holiday for Thanksgiving. It’s been a long stretch of work without a break, and I have added massive house renovations to the mix during this time as well. Suffice it to say, I’m lucky to get out the door and make it through the day without embarrassing the family by saying or doing something regrettable. So...this morning...the last day before a long awaited break, was the pinnacle of my being at risk of faulty reasoning and / or poor judgement.

And I didn’t fail to meet the criteria for either possibility.

I drive thirty five miles each way to work into the sun...east to work, and west toward home. That means lots of heavenly sunlight in my car depending on the time of year. Since daylight savings time went away a couple of weeks ago, I’m now enjoying sunshine on the way to work in the mornings.

This morning, I was just driving along as usual listening to an audible book (The Poisonwood Bible...it’s a good one if you haven’t already read it) and happened to notice multiple little white fibers floating in the air and reflecting in the sunlight. I immediately went into panic mode...oh no!!!!! What is this???? The dreaded fibers!!!!! Why is this happening at this stage of the game???? I’d actually started crying...and my mind went into all kinds of places that included doom and gloom.

Then I paused to think for a minute (a really hard thing for me to do when I get like this). What had I done right before noticing these floating white fibers? Then I realized what had happened...I’d popped up a Kleenex just a short time before noticing the floating fibers.

Sometimes good things happen.

Of course, sometimes I "make" bad things happen...like the scary floating things in my car...but stopping to think about it long enough made me realize I had nothing to worry about...which was the good thing.

Whew! That’s such a relief because it’s my job to worry about everything!

One less worry thing on my list makes the upcoming days off look even sweeter.

So...lesson learned...don’t borrow trouble.

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.

Love,

Karen
