Dear All, Let's start a thread about all the things that we watch or listen to that bring us comfort, solace, cheer, even companionship as we go through our journey with this disease. I say this is inspired by Karen, because she often says she loves a good film or costume drama. I was thinking this morning Karen how i must tell you in prayer call today how much I absolutely ADORE this series, I mean I truly LOVE it!!!. Then I thought, no put it out there so everyone who wants to can hear about it and love it too!. The series is called, 'LARK RISE TO CANDLEFORD,' and there is four series altogether, each one is wonderful. Well I love their community almost as much as I love ours (even though theirs is in the imagination! :-)). I can honestly say it's probably my favourite series of all time. Someone described it like a moving picture. It is beautifully choreographed by the BBC, you can buy it in amazon USA I checked and honestly it's worth every penny and will bring many many hours of captivating enjoyment, over and over again. You get drawn into their Victorian working class lives, into all their individual characters and the storylines are always very very good. The scenery and attention to detail is gorgeous. Their world comforts me, it captivates me, it takes me away from each fibre or bite sensation I may experience. Into their world of camaraderie, friendship, struggles, but ultimately love. And I feel strongly that when we are dealing with such a difficult, almost Sci fi like disease like we are, that it is so important to take our minds to a place where we can have a little bit of comfort and solace. Larkise to Candleford does that for me. Dear friends check it out. The only downside is that when I finish watching it I feel genuinely sad and miss the characters and their lives, because I have become so engrossed in them.it is a world that I truly don't want to leave!!! But that's a small price to pay :-). Another fantastic series is CRANFORD, there is CRANFORD and RETURN TO CRANFORD, both absolutely great to watch also. Also by the BBC and set in Victorian England, absolutely wonderful stuff. Again the attention to detail and the actors are fantastic. I love it and I get drawn in. You can also get it in America and Im sure you can get both series in other countries too. I'm in the middle of re watching Larkise just now and just loving it. I honestly want it to go on forever!! :-). Love Chrissie

Hello Tracy, I am very happy to hear that you loved The Upper Sky and that it soothed you :-) Check out Ludovico Eunaudi. He is an Italian piano composer. I find his music to be so soothing and utterly beautiful. His music is on you tube. I hope that soon, you will be able to join us in the conference calls and prayer calls. I know you tried to join this weekend. I hope that it was just a small technical hitch and that all will be well for you joining next time. Cheryl, thanks for linking The Upper Sky and for letting us know many good things that we can watch. I'm delighted that you are currently watching my favourite, Lark Rise To Candleford, and getting a lot of enjoyment out of it. Especially the fact that it makes you have a wee laugh or two :-) You sure need that after your three surgeries my friend! God bless, Chrissie

Hi Everyone, I'd mentioned this on the prayer conference on Sunday, but I thought I'd put it in a post. If you've never heard of Josiah's Fire, you might want to google it. It's an inspiring story about a little boy with autism. He was completely nonverbal until his mom got some technology that allowed him to spell words on an ipad. I don't even know how they taught him to read and write...but obviously he did learn because what his writing revealed is astonishing. Until he began to write, they didn't even know what thoughts he had...but once he started spelling words, they were floored. Clearly this child has a direct and profound relationship with the Almighty. God's words come through this child...and the messages are powerful and heart touching. I've watched Youtube videos where his mother tells his story. It is amazing...and the underlying message is...never give up hope. It's not even necessary for me to say how this relates to all of us...because hope is what will get us all through the daily difficulties that are part of our rocky road to recovery. But I'll say it anyway...because hope is also the glue that holds the "sum of the parts" together. The words shared by this little boy allow us a glimpse into the other side of the veil...and a sweet reminder of God's tender mercies. Enjoy! Love, Karen
