Robert Scott bell 4/28/2026 7:56:23 AM MST | Hello Mel & everyone, Dr. David Brownstein is a big proponent of iodine for Thyroid, but I always add that Selenium is the critical mineral for full and appropriate utilization of iodine in all things thyroid. Homeopathic Iodum and Thyroidinum are typically indicated when there is thyroid dysfunction. Nodules are often calcifications present when minerals are imbalanced, such as with low potassium and copper. Zinc is critical in immune response and repair, but behaves badly when copper is not present to manage it, which can result in abnormal tissue growth. Thanks for helping me rock the health world! Thanks Chrissie/Gwen for your responses. Yeah I will think about it. I so hate the modern day docs. I asked my doc if we could do the full thyroid panel and he said no, cos we don't need to. All we need is TSH. I did see that he did the free t3 and free t4 too, which is good. But I wanted the antibodies done too. These docs are just frustrating as hell. I did find a really good article on managing hashimoto's https://medium.com/nutrition-science-for-health/managing-hashimotos-naturally-how-serrapeptase-can-reduce-thyroid-inflammation-e61ac48ffdfe. Wonder if anyone has had luck with magnifizyme and thyroid. Personally I do think that it does help -- but what is everyone else's thoughts on this?

Hi Mel,everyone, Iodine should not be taken, even if it is thyroid nodules, benign thyroid nodules usually dont affect thyroid function at all. The hormones are normal in blood tests. Iodine is only taken when there is a proven iodine deficiency regards thyroid.
