Morgellons -

Thank you for sharing Margaret!

I needed a really good reminder to shut my brain down a little bit better before bed. I’ve been trying so hard to rework my schedule, but it can be difficult when you’re used to a certain way for so long.

I will say the one thing I am finding relief with is that I’ve made it a point to journal again and write as much as I can and also to be sure that I read God‘s word daily with prayer & meditation. I feel like those two are main factors in this for me and of course the sleep!!

I’ll also say that using the creative mind is extremely beneficial, so anything art is a bonus!

Thanks again for sharing I truly appreciate it!

Morgellons - Mel has always said "sleep is # 1"
Mel has always said "sleep is # 1"

Hello Friends!

I wanted to start a thread all about how to deal with a herxheimer reaction and post some go-to "treatments" or actions to take to help along the body during times that your body is trying to clean out toxicity that has been mobilized. I will intermittently post a new tactic but please feel free to contribute! We all do better together!

I am a huge detoxification advocate and believe it makes treating this disease soooo much easier!

Tip #1: GET MORE SLEEP!

Sleep cannot be underprioritized during this process and is THE MOST important part of getting well. If you want to speed up the healing process, get better, longer sleep. Pay attention to your "sleep hygiene" practices at night. What does your sleep routine look like?

Sleep hygiene best practices:

-Don't be scrolling on your phone or watching tv for the prior 2 hours before sleep
-Consider doing a deep breathing technique (search on YouTube)... this puts the body in a parasympathetic state of rest and repair
-Read a book, pray or journal as part of your wind-down routine to replace being on the phone.
-Consider a light stretching exercise or a bath to relax the body
-Make sure to get some sunlight/exercise if possible earlier in the day to help facilitate a deeper sleep state at night.

Don't get disheartened if your circadian rhythm is out of whack... we've all been there! Feel free to share any tactics you use to promote better sleep or that you do as part of a healthy sleep routine.

Love y'all and God Bless
