Thank you and it is obvious that you "get it." I will be glad to speak with you and your husband when you are ready to install a whole house system, but it looks like you have got it pretty well figured out.
The system that Mercola offers is similar if not the same as the Aquasana. You might save some money there. I like the system, however it is pricey, which is why I choose to point out the Water Anywhere System at approximately 1/4 the cost. Two issues from my experience in the past have been the tendency for water to "channel" through the beds of media and thus bypass longer contact times. Maybe they have fixed that since then. And the flow restriction and pressure drop from a 0.35 micron post filter which they also might have overcome with a larger size filter.
If it was me I would still use a point of use system to treat any water that I drink and cook with. My favorite is counter-top R.O. The above system does not address fluoride adequately and other heavy metals and possibly chlorine resistant pathogens like parasites, bacteria and viruses. I realize that you use the wonderful Mountain Valley Spring Water; I just wanted this information in the post for others who do not have access to such high quality spring water.
Again thank you Ms V for you upbeat contributions to this site and inspiring quotes!
