Vanessa 1/19/2018 6:39:43 PM | Hi everyone, I just wanted to ask if anyone in this group does regular mammograms. Are they safe? I've heard of false positives from mammograms. Everytime I go to the doc she scares me as to how many women are diagnosed with breast cancer and the more you delay doing mammograms the more you put yourself at risk. I know she's just doing her job, but I'm just wondering if there's any opinions here. Eventually I will have to make a decision as to whether I wanna do it or not. I asked for an ultrasound, but they said they wouldn't be able to give a conclusive report with just an ultrasound.....which is just very frustrating. Would love to hear from the women on this forum |

Vanessa 1/25/2018 9:01:07 AM edit upload | Hi Deanna, Yeah, I had watched 'The Truth About Cancer' too and that's why when she suggested a mammogram last year, I told her I'd rather go with thermography. She said that it was really expensive. I then asked for ultrasound and she said that that's not conclusive. I did talk to someone at Dr.s office last year and they suggested thermography and ultrasound too. My doc feels that everyone above the age of 40 should do a yearly mammogram and if you say 'no' then the scare tactics start. Ofcourse this time I let the fear get the better of me when she explained how 3 other women waited 2 yrs to get their mammograms done and then all 3 were diagnosed with cancer and they all wished they had listened to her and done it sooner. I've decided that it's gonna be thermography for me for sure. I have to wonder if they get any commission for sending people for mammograms? This doc generally agrees to every test I ask her to do for me, including entire thyroid panel.....but she seems to be stuck with mammograms. Weird really. That said, I have to thank God for leading me to Mel's website and hence this community. It's such a comfort to be able to ask any and every question and have so much support and guidance from others in this community. Thank you Lord. Thank you Mel......without you we would be lost. Blessings to all |
Deanna 1/23/2018 3:11:00 PM | Hi Vanessa, After watching The Truth About Cancer and doing my own research I switched over to "Thermography" this year and don't plan on going back!! My Primary Care (Integrated) Doctor is in support of my choice also, now I just have to find an OB/GYN that will be too!! I would definitely recommend looking into it!! Good luck and do let us know what you decide!!! Love, Peace & MANY Prayers, Deanna |
