I've used polyester sheets since I first got this disease. Microfiber sheets are polyester with a bit of a different finish so they're more comfortable. I have a set of those and a set of just plain polyester cheapies from Walmart. Both are kind of hot for the area I live in (though the microfibers are a little bit more comfortable). They're ok in the winter, but in the hot weather, I just turn the AC down at night. It's worth the extra electricity $ to not suffer with the effects of cotton sheets (though they are SO breathable and comfortable...and I SO miss my high thread count long fiber Egyptian cotton sheets, but I digress...I promised myself I wouldn't keep whining about my lost old life, and so I won't...all that much). A couple of years ago, I bought some cheap polyester satin sheets and liked them at first...and then I felt like they were getting hard to get clean in spite of all my washing methods. They were kind of fun at first though...really slippery...I had to jump on the middle of the bed because if I got close to the edge I'd slide out. Kind of entertaining for the short term but a little dangerous if I got too close to the edge of the bed in the middle of the night. As for moisturizer, I use a brand called Ahava. Mel got me started on it because it's something he learned about back in his modeling days. You have to order it online and it's kind of pricey unless you wait until they have their two for one sale. Then the best deal is to order two big bottles of the body lotion. They have all kinds of face moisturizers too, but I've found I don't need a specialized one for my face...the body lotion works just fine on my face too. It's not too expensive if you do it that way. I like it because a little goes a really long way and it has dead sea salts in it. It's made in Israel, thus the dead sea salts. It smells wonderful too! Hope this helps. Love, Karen |
