8/30/2016 2:41:08 PM | Craig, Peter & Adrianne: Thank you all for welcoming me and for the sage advice. Yesterday was a low point for me; although I had finally conquered my initial shyness and reached out on the forum and to Mel, I was feeling so discouraged that I just wanted to curl into a little ball and avoid everything. This feeling was further exacerbated by the the fact that my symptoms were worse yesterday after having been better just days before. Right now I am struggling to sleep at night. My husband is very concerned about this. What he doesn't understand is that I lay in bed at night thinking, "Am I infecting this person I love and who is my best friend just by laying next to him?" I have struggled on and off with anxiety throughout my life but this is really sapping my energy. Invariably, I end up just getting up and trying to occupy myself until my husband gets up to go to work. He is a hearty person in good physical condition (thank goodness) so his approach is to tell me that he will be just fine and I need to take care of myself. He also thinks I am going overboard about every 'fiber' I see. He sees hairs & fibers that he justifies as being from our dogs, our flokati rug or our terrible hvac system. I know that many of these fibers are quite different from our normal household debris. How do I make him understand? To compound my worry, our son is due to come home from college for a visit this coming weekend. I'm frightened I will send this back to school with him. I usually travel to see my parents every couple of months to help them and to see my young niece and nephews. I have family asking me to go out to lunch and get together each week and at Thanksgiving we have our annual family reunion to attend a few hundred miles away. I can limit some contact but with my immediate family that will be almost impossible. Plus, I've always been the caregiver of the family - will I still be able to care for everyone? I'm at a loss as to whether or not I need to quarantine myself or whether I should just plow ahead and try to live normally while dealing with this like one would deal with a strange second life running parallel to their normal life. These thoughts of infecting those I hold dear are keeping me up at night and the cycle of lost sleep is starting to impair me further. I have hope. Faith has been a constant in my life and has brought both comfort, things needed and things to be grateful for. I hope I can re-harness some of that and attack this with more positivity and less anguish and fear. I have purchased the Kleen Green and it is on the way, as is the Sovereign Silver. I am changing sheets every other day and liberally spraying down the bed, bedroom and bathroom I share with my husband with a mixture of borax, baking soda, vinegar, distilled water and essential oils of peppermint, clove & cedar. It seems to help some. I hope to discuss getting on the protocol with Mel very soon. I've printed the FAQ and comprised a meal plan that we are starting tomorrow morning. My husband and I tend to be be fairly clean eaters already, so I'm hoping this won't be too painful. I'll miss my red wine and chocolate, though. I am open to all suggestions. It does give much comfort that so many of you are successfully dealing with this or have nearly put it behind you. Courage is obviously a mandatory medicine here, just as important as any supplement or treatment. With gratitude and warmth to all on the forum - Ms. V. |
