4/30/2009 3:12:38 PM | To L of Colorado. We have all been where you are and were. I too was told all those things (12 dermotologists and 4 infectious disease doctors later). The only place I have found support is with Holistic/MD's. Check in your area for these type of doctors. You will need one that can write prescriptions. Needing prescriptions, I taken a different approach with doctors now. You need to swallow your pride and anger (I know it's not easy) and talk to them about Morgellons, explain that the CDC has been studying it, it is now listed on the Mayo Clinic's web site. So far this has worked with one doctor for me, I am seeing another one tomorrow and hope to get the second half of the prescription I need. With people like Mel and Mae helping us thru this, I think we can beat it. My one concern is this, we all live in different part of the country and not all of us were biten by a spider (I don't think I was) so the bacteria that each of us has in our system could be different. I had a biopsy done looking for bacteria and fungus. My doctor did not think Bactrim was the right one for my situation. so I am taking a different anti-biotic ( I am also allergic to sulfur), so my choices were limited. I have been on the anti-biotic for only 2 days, so I will let you know in a week or so how it is going. Hang in there Deb2 |
