I have been well for almost two years now.
If you type in "Ellen" on the search engine, you can read what will take too long to post here. The answers to your question of "how" is all on this website, but it may take you 3 weeks to read it in its entirety. There is no real shortcut to getting all the information needed.
I am sometimes afraid to let people know, but I do not need to follow anything strict at this time. My symptoms have never returned.
I did, however, follow the protocol and diet EXACTLY as outlined here for an entire year.
it is not easy, but so doable. If you think you have this, you should think about beginning this protocol as soon as possible.
