Shari,

Thank you for your kind words. I hope that you continue to have faith that you will be well in the future and know that everyone here is pulling for you. I haven't been here long but I feel confident in that fact.

It is hard to understand, at different points in our lives, why we have been burdened with an affliction or a tragedy or a loss. MD is not something I welcomed, nor did I accept it easily. I felt very sorry for myself in the beginning. I'm not a crier but I have certainly shed tears over this. I have a lot of responsibilities and people who rely on me. My husband and I also thought we would finally get to do a little food and wine related traveling now that my son is out of the nest. Our lives have been very stressful for the past 5 years and we thought we 'deserved' a little break. Silly us. Almost funny how fate and a poor bioterrain conspired to temporarily kill that dream.

However, this is not the worst thing that has happened to me, nor will it end up being the worst thing I've survived in my life so far. If I stay the course, I'll get back to wellness - actually a better, more vigilant wellness. And so will you. MD is something we can learn and grow from, in spite of its uglier nature and how exhausted it makes us feel physically and emotionally sometimes.

When I feel frustrated and exhausted, I try to remember Ovid's words: 'Be patient and tough; one day this pain will be useful to you.'

I hope you don't interpret this as me 'preaching' to you. It is just a message to relate to the hard road we're traveling here. I send you love, warmth and hope for healing. Hang in there, lady.
