11/2/2016 7:01:30 PM | Hello Forum Fellows :) I sent an email to Mel today updating him on my progress and he asked me to post it in my thread. Please see below. I hope this message finds all of you in good spirits no matter what stages of healing you are in. Hi, Mel, I went back to one of my volunteer activities this week - the first time I've been able to do so since late July. I'm starting out slowly - just a couple of hours each week in my previous role as a chapel guardian in the silent prayer chapel at my church - but I feel so blessed and good to be well enough to resume that. My ph has been 7-7.5 and temperature 98.4 - 98.9 for a solid 20+ straight days! I know a lot of people struggle with this. I attribute the new consistency in ph level and body temperature to the protocol but also to the combined effort of less stress, the proper balance of proteins, vegetables and minimal whole grains in diet, herbs and spices I incorporate into food and drink and drinking a water that has a good alkaline level. It would be interesting to do a post and create a forum category for herbs and spices. One thing people might not know is that they can still enjoy coffee and black teas after only a few months on the protocol if they drink those things with or around certain herbs and spices. Most spices, as you probably already know from all of your experience, are very alkaline. A bit of ground cardamom, for instance, when added to black tea or coffee can completely neutralize the compound that causes those drinks to create acid in our digestive systems. Fresh parsley has a similar affect on food - particularly if it is incorporated into a broth or made into an herbal tea. Just some food for thought ;) Some herbs and spices that I incorporate into my daily and weekly diet are: turmeric, Ceylon cinnamon (important that it is Ceylon and not cassia cinnamon), cardamom, parsley, basil, thyme, rosemary, dandelion, garlic, onion and leeks. With coffee and tea, I'd be much more worried that people were't buying quality products in some cases. Teas can be adulterated with things that aren't good for us like added flavorings and preservative agents. In addition they need to be grown in the right areas. The healthiest type of tea is worthless to our bodies if it is grown in an area where the water or environment is contaminated or the harvesting processes are not sound. Likewise for coffee. For myself and my family, I also focus on buying teas and coffee that are less likely to have mold than others. A lot of that has to do with where it is grown and harvested. Again - just some food for thought! I am almost done with the essential oils post we were discussing. It got a little more involved than I'd originally intended, so I'm going back and simplifying and refining it. Thank you, so much, as usual. As soon as things calm down a little in the next day or so, I will call you. Ms. V. 'The function of prayer is not to influence God, but rather is to change the nature of the one who prays.'
