The doctor asked for all the 'T' tests if I remember correctly. There is a TSH, T3, and T4 test. Depending on what the doctor assesses from this test determines if a person is 'hyper' or 'hypo' thyroid. There is a 'normal' range that they look for. (.5-5.0)I think but do check with a doctor for those specifics.
My doctor put me on Armour Thyroid which he felt was better than some of the other synthetic thyroid hormones. Thyroid function is also affected by sleep deprivation which many of us have experienced with this affliction. UGH!
