Hello Everyone,

I have a lot to be thankful for this year. It has been two years since I spent Thanksgiving alone in isolation afraid of spreading this disease. Last Thanksgiving I was back to normal. The time I spent getting well went by very fast. Really.

I AM THANKFUL FOR GOOGLE! I was thinking of starting a thread called "How Google saved my life." When I had a lot of crazy symptoms, and no doctor to offer help, I diagnosed myself by reading posts by all the others online with the same symptoms. Without Google, my daughter would not have discovered Mel's site and protocol. Google Joni Mitchell. She is in the news lately because she has a new boxed set of music out and was recently interviewed on Tavis Smiley. And she is definitely NOT delusionaI! I always say to Mel. "If only a famous person with this illness would come forward, like Magic Johnson did with HIV, we would get more legitimacy and attention. All of the news programs still report it as "a psychotic disease where people think they are getting bitten by insects." As someone on this site said once, "I wish I were crazy, because then I could get some help."

I'm thankful I had my faith. Without that, I would not have taken the leap to go all in and follow this plan. I had no idea if it was going to work. I had to have faith; otherwise I could not endure it.

I can't say I'm thankful for getting this illness, but I know it has strengthened me and set the bar for how much pain and suffering I can endure. We will all have to deal with pain and suffering at different times in our lives. Curing myself of this disease makes me think I can handle whatever comes my way. I have tools now. I know where my support lies. And I think I am a better person, more patient with others.

I am thankful for the information I learned about nutrition and toxins, and how much power over our health is in our hands. All the foods that are forbidden on this plan are not very good for us anyway - with maybe the exception of fruits. Most of the foods we have to avoid have substitutes in the grocery stores now, which would not have been possible 10 years ago. The changes in diet will keep us all heathy and maybe free of other illnesses for years to come.

I watch PBS stations a lot while I'm working from home, and SO many programs are now devoted to avoiding sugar to prevent and cure our health problems. It is now common knowledge. We are just the guinea pigs to prove it.

Gratitude is a beautiful thing. I believe it is absolutely necessary for our survival. I am thankful for all of you.

Stay strong!

Ellen
