I have come to love and respect a lot of things about you, but the thing I appreciate the most is your willingness to be real. Honesty and humility are rare traits these days.
If people could see what I see on a regular basis as I witness the transformation in the lives you are touching, they would be blown away.
As we all know, humans can be fickle, but your courage, faithfulness, and perseverance is well known to those you serve... and most importantly, to the ONE you serve.
God's definition of success is not measured on balance sheets. We find it in the ancient book of Genesis in the life story of Joseph, the favorite son of Jacob, from whom the twelve tribes of Israel were birthed.
When he was still a boy, Joseph was sold into slavery by his jealous brothers and ended up being the most powerful man in Egypt next to Pharaoh. Long before that, however, when he first arrived in Egypt and served in the house of Potiphar (the captain of Pharaoh's guard), the Hebrew text says that he became 'a successful man'.
That word 'successful' means 'one who causes others to be lifted up'.
It is an honor and a pleasure to walk alongside you in your ministry Mel.
