Dear Jamie,
I understand your challenge with water and teaching. I have found the easiest way to get all my water in is to drink plenty before work and even more after work.
As far as knowing when you are "getting there"....Every person is different. For me it was two steps forward and one step back. Sometimes it felt like two steps forward, two steps back. Then one day it was four steps forward and before long you just realize things are different in a good way. Remember it will take time to restore the integrity of your bio-terrain. But the good news is; you have already started.
Have you used the search engine to find out about your reflux issues? I do know proper digestion and the flora of your "gut" is very important. You may consider paying special attention to things that align with this.
