I missed you all SO much on Sunday! I had texted Donna that I would not be able to make the Sunday conference call. I had, what I believe, to be a day-long herx. I woke up with a mild headache, sore eyes, a mild sore throat, and bad nausea/dizziness. I ended up spending the vast majority of the day in bed. I kept falling asleep and knew I’d be junk during a conference call. Karen, I laughed so hard when I read your teaching story! It takes a lot to make me laugh these days, so I truly appreciate it when it happens! There are definitely days when my students think I am a maniacal tyrant, too! Today was crazy in New England. Talk about wind! It has been violent! It ended up being a waste of time going in today after a day-long herx...in fact, I almost called in, but sometimes calling in causes more work and stress than just dragging my sorry self there. However, today was useless. We had a two-hour delay and then an early dismissal. It was complete, disorganized chaos. One of my students has been deathly ill for a month, in and out of the emergency room. Her mother died this past July. To add insult to injury, the poor kid went home from school today to find out that the wind had taken out a tree that fell on her garage and house, and it damaged her car, too. Her situation reminded me that there are a lot of people who suffer for all sorts of reasons in the world. She’s only 18, and she’s coping with the loss of her mother, a serious undiagnosed illness, and a wrecked house. My husband can attest to the fact that I can be the biggest baby about my Morgellons/Lyme at times. I definitely have a tendency to lose my perspective. I’m glad that God reminds me once in a while that things can ALWAYS be worse!!! I look forward to next weekend’s conference calls. I hope everyone has an excellent, hopeful week. To everyone who is new to the forum, WELCOME! Jamie | |||
